SoDA Meeting 2

Just a friendly reminder, tomorrow night (Thursday, Feb 9th from 6:30pm – 9:30pm) in BYAC 110, we will be hosting our second meeting.

For ASU students who haven’t already discovered us, we are the Software Developer’s Association @ ASU. We invite all parties interested in technology, programming, or just people interested in collaboration with other students to join us.

We’re still working with the speaker we had planned to visit and present, however we can’t yet guarantee him for this meeting. More information about the speaker will be sent out as a follow up as soon as we know.

Thanks!

First SoDA Meeting of Spring

Hello, friends! It’s that time again; the first scheduled weekly meeting for the Software Developer’s Association is just around the corner. This Thursday (Feb. 2, 2012) from 6:30PM – 9:30PM, we will host the first meeting of the semester in Brickyard Artisan Court Room 110 (BYAC 110).

To start the meeting off we will introduce our organization to new members, introduce ourselves, and plan for future meetings. After getting formalities out of the way, entrepreneur Ben Huston, CEO of Looterang.com will discuss his product, a service that discovers rewards personalized to the way you shop, his experience in creating a startup in Phoenix, and the mobile platforms on which they release to, iOS and Android.

After the conclusion of the official meeting, the current SoDA officers will stick around to talk with SoDA members to discuss the upcoming election for new officers. Anyone interested in a fantastic way to demonstrate your leadership skills (Or anyone interested in improving their leadership skills), should come talk with us after the club meeting so we can share the information.

Thanks!

Startup Weekend in Chandler ($25, 3 day event, unlimited energy drinks!)

Brett Farmiloe recently contacted us about a very cool looking event in Chandler, AZ. For a mere $25 (If you’re a student), you will get access to a three day event for entrepreneurs wishing to jump start their startup. Developers, designers, business people, and etc are welcome!

Startup Weekend Chandler provides an unprecedented level of networking, team building, learning, and life changes for its attendees and their communities. Don’t forget that there will be 6-7 meals and drinks provided. There is a reason that most attendees come back for every event – it’s just plain fun and provides amazing opportunities you can’t get anywhere else.

Email Brett (farmiloe@gmail.com), he’s looking for software developer rockstars for his team!

I’ll (Travis) be attending too, so I hope to see some familiar faces!
