Innovation Challenge & Edson Project

From: Melissa Birling <melissa.birling@asu.edu>

Good morning. I am currently working on two new venture projects as an ASU grad student and am hoping to apply for the Innovation Challenge in November and Edson Initiative this spring. My business ideas have to do with developing web-based software in the personal financial services arena and health insurance industry. My expertise is in those two industries where I previously worked and in business management in general. I need to find an ASU student(s) who wants to be a teammate in these projects and whose expertise is in software development. It can be either grad or undergrad. I’m very excited to launch these products and have an idea of the technology I need, I unfortunately cannot program websites or software. The most important thing is that the student has an entrepreneurial or inquisitive spirit; if he/she is not super experienced that is ok, we can always bring in mentors or consultants. At this point I’m just looking to form an interdisciplinary team with people who have skill sets that complement my own

WordPress (Plug-ins): Quick Project

Here is a statement of work from the end user….we will need a bid from the developer but hopefully this should be a quick easy project.

End User SOW
“We have some customizations in our comments area that makes some plug-ins not work. In particular, we want our readers to be able to upload photos into the comments just like they do with YouTube videos. We’ve tried a couple of plug-ins, but they always seem to conflict in some way with the comments section.

So, we would love to be able to load photos in comments, but think we need someone who can look at the plug-in code and the theme comments code and figure out what is wrong and then make it right.”

Client really wants to get this working….please reply back with a project bid and all your contact information. Thanks

Audio Excursions

At this time I am not looking to employ anybody, but rather am giving up an equity stake in a brand new company as an opportunity for somebody to come on as a partner to manage the tech side of the company. This person will have partial ownership of this start-up in return for their dedication. At this point the company is not generating revenue so there is no compensation yet, however, this individual will be compensated after the official launch when revenue will begin to be realized. 10-20 hours a week will be required.

This person would be detailing the type of work to be done as the technology partner for future tech employees, including detailing the workload of a small group of seniors for their one year capstone project. Please see the notes below from a previous application I had put together and let me know if you have any further questions.
